Golf Course Design

Designs approved for Lingfield Park

18 January 2010

James Edwards Golf Design has completed designs for practice facilities and the immediate golfing area at Lingfield Park Golf Club in Surrey, UK.

With a Marriot hotel being built on site that will include a new clubhouse, the existing clubhouse is being demolished and James Edwards has redesigned the immediate golfing area, including short game facilites and putting green, the first hole and the eighteenth green.

"This is a fascinating project as it's for the area of the golf course that sets the scene for the round ahead. The new Marriot hotel is a tremendous facility and it's crucial that the first impression on reaching the golf course is equally striking," says Edwards. "In addition, members now have access to greatly improved practice facilities".

The grand opening of the new hotel, clubhouse and immediate golfing area is scheduled for May 2010.
